When art history meets typography.
This project by Ji Lee seeks to “visualize the meaning of a word, using only the graphic elements of the letters forming the word, without adding any outside parts.”
I find that these examples overcomes the schism between text and image, with the word presented as a purely graphic image but at the same time retaining its own dialectic as a text. A brilliant achievement.
I mean, how can you not visualize Dali’s eccentric face when you see this font?
